This year's schedule includes the annual send-off party for accepted students, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wallace, our Cavaliers Care project, where local alumni helped out at Dallas' Wilkinson Center, UVA sports-watching parties, a "Foxfield Day" with University of Richmond alumni at Lone Star Park, and our Holiday Cocktail Gathering at Club Sambuca in Deep Ellum. Watch this space for more details on these events and for other club activities! The Virginia Club of Dallas-Fort Worth would like to thank Highland Park High School for once again hosting this year's College Night for prospective students and their parents. This year's presentation featured the Alumni Roundtable, where alums discussed their experiences at UVA, and a visit from Dean of Admissions Larry Groves. If you are interested in participating in next year's roundtable or know any current high school student that is considering applying to UVA, please contact Brian Hight for further information. Membership Dues are $20 for recent (last 5 yrs), $30 for general alumni, and $50 for a couple per year. These dues help to provide more mailings for publicity, the Accepted Students' Send Off held annually in August and other Alumni events! Please send your completed application and a check made out to UVa Club of Dallas/Ft. Worth to Peggy Ding at 12634 Harriet Circle, Dallas, Texas 75244. CAVALIERS CARE 2003 NEWS The Virginia Club of Dallas-Fort Worth will have our annual Cavaliers Care day on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Wilkinson Center, located at 5200 Bryan Street in Dallas. Our activities include stocking the food pantry and organizing the Career Closet. We are collecting food and clothing prior to April 5 to donate to the center. The current schedule is to work from 9 AM to 12 noon, followed by a relaxing lunch and good conversation at a local restaurant. For further information and a registration form, please visit the Virginia Alumni Association home page. Pictures of last year's Cavaliers Care event are shown below. We're hoping for an even bigger turnout and more "productive fun" this year!
